Some of the guys that were collecting saws for awhile drove the prices up beyond what was sustainable. That's just how I see it. The same thing happened with cattle. Prices were going up, so everyone was getting in the cattle business. When all those guys had a grow out of calves to sell.......the price dropped due to a flooded market. Everything levels out......

Hence my earlier statement of being a sucker lol

You ain't a sucker........but you did get caught up in the hunt for certain models. When you and Steven posted that you were hunting a certain saw in your sig......well the prices went up. That's just how it is.

It's easy to get caught up! When I first joined these site's 5 years ago my only saw was a husky 445. I had just picked up my first oh44 and wanted info on the nwp big bore kits. I then acquired a few very nice saw's an dear one's and found myself being a collector instead of a user. I'm still that way but am trying to get rid of the saws I don't use or don't want to use. I'm not sure if my step dad which he pretty much was my real dad would be proud or pissed for the amount of saw's that I have now. Especially when I was growing up our firewood saw was a 031 with a 16" bar. It will be 21 years next month and I would do almost anything to see his face again, whether it was disappointment or happiness.

Not just you two. Lots of guys are willing to pay a premium for a nice example of certain models. I'm just saying that prices did get outta hand there for awhile. I think they are sorta back to normal now.
