Dad's (in my sig line) does just fine, though it looks like Randy still knows a thing or two more about sharpening a chain than I do. Mine will thrown nice chips, but Randy's chain digs like and ice-cram scoop.

your gonna swell his head and his legs wont withstand much more lol

I heard his legs are like two toothpicks stuck in a potato

Everything you have said is astonishing but there is nothing surprising about Randy treating a customer like that. And that's why he is booked months out way to be Randy.

Well , now is the time to say what I think of Mr. Evans. No, I haven't run it stock. I have 2 other 262's w/87 carbs and KS cylinders so I know what they can do stock. I wrapped up one of them and sent it to Randy with the stock KS cylinder and a Mahle decomp cylinder for him to choose which one he wanted to port. This is when he had alot going on and his time was spent taking care of family, much less healing himself. Well, to make a long story short I dropped him an email about 2 months later inquiring about my saw and he called me to say he never recieved it. I found the receipt from USPS and found out that who ever was on the route had said they delivered it to addressee. Well Mr. Evans absolutely went crazy trying to find that thing to no avail. So the saw he made the video of he manufactured from his own parts and scrounging around this site. I offered to send him a spare case and another 87 carb I had around but he wouldn't hear of it. Said something about it was his livelihood and he wanted to treat me right. I didn't hold it against him that my saw had gone somewhere and I realize that sh** can happen. After all, we are dealing with the USPS. He almost got the saw done and I recieved a call the other day that he had spotted a crack in one of the case halves and he was going to tear it down, split the case and put another 1/2 in. Are you kidding me!! Really?? That to me speaks volumes about the man and his word. He DIDN'T have to do it, but he chose the path of rightousness in his mind. My hats off to him! I just hope that if I am put to the test that I pass it so handsomely as Mr. Evans. He not only gained a loyal customer but I gained a friend. My only hope is that I will be able to pay it forward in such a way that it will make him smile. Thats what I think of Mr. Evans. I'm climbing down now.....lol
Yup, that's Moobs.

I sent him my 066 to port. I got a pic a few days later of a crankcase full of bar oil. He said he'd take care of it. Split case and resealed. No extra charge.

That's a good man and EXACTLY why he's booked out months.

Fingers and bridge ports in that one Dan.

One word sir.

When Tom asked about his saw, I tore this place apart looking for it. It just was not here. Talk about a punch in the gut sorta feeling.

What else could I do? I just built him a saw. Has anyone got a bar plate for one of these? That's all I'm missing.

I'm nothing special in any way. My house needs repairs, I have unfinished projects everywhere, I forget stuff that I should not, I make mistakes, etc.

The only thing I think I really have going for me is a healthy sense of right and wrong. I firmly believe if a man does the next right thing, then all the other stuff will work out. I see a lot of guys here that feel the same way. We are lucky to have found each other.

Wrong Randy...
What you just wrote is exactly what makes you special. Maybe it used to be the norm. But not anymore...

Maybe it's the working man's mentality Dan. We all have to work hard to make ends meet, so we respect each other and can't stand to see one of our own end up with the short end of the stick.

Yesterday was a good day for me. I got a bunch of saws tested. Then decided to go bush hog till dark. I enjoy mowing the fields. Its oddly therapeutic......

I know what you mean, I love running mowing equipment, be it the tractor, the Lazer, the Walker, or even my Snapper commercial 21, it is very relaxing and I love the smell!
