If your truck has mudflaps and you tow a trailer, instead of putting aux reverse lights on the bumper, install the on the mudflaps. It keeps light down low where you typically need it the most and reduces the amount of reflective glare off of the trailer so it doesn’t blind you.
Wiring is simple; ground and power. I tapped off of the reverse light wire of the 8 pin trailer hitch plug for power and grounded them to the frame. I made sure to use marine grade heat shrink connectors and used bullet connectors on the wires. This way when one of the $12 a pair Amazon led lights burn out or break it is a quick and simple swap out.
In over 4 years of having this done to both vehicles i have replaced 1 set of lights. Mud, snow, rain and gravel hasn’t affected them.
