I currently have a Johnson energy with dual blowers. Inside the grates at one time melted and now there is a hole covered by a piece of cast iron (like this when I bought the house). Recently this has become a deep concern for my wife and she's insistent it's time for a new one. We only heat about 1200 sq. ft, I like the blower setup but would entertain other ideas. Any suggestions? Also will be relocating and putting up a stainless double wall chimney.IMG_20160223_185150196.jpg

The energy King looks to be a little out of my price range. Like to stay under $2000

I do believe I can get replacement grates, stove is very similar to my grandfather's hot blast. On the bright side, if she keeps insisting on a new one this ones headed to the garage.

Anyone hear have any info on the drolet heatmax?

Seems like in the drolet is pretty hard to come by in the Northeast. I've made a lot of phone calls with no luck. There's a couple local energy King dealers, looks like I may be dishin out a lil more $$ than I'd hoped. Any info on these?

Mine is a 480EK that I use to heat about 2400 sqft. I burn everything in it (wood, bituminous, and anthracite coal). I heats well and has shaker grates. Loves wood when it`s cold out. It is one solid machine. Weighs 700lbs! I have it tied into my NG ducting with all the needed backdraft dampers, etc.

Where are you located?

Southern Adirondacks in NY, both dealers seem to think the 365EK would do what I want.

I would tend to agree even though I do not have any experience with that particular model. Isn`t it also EPA certified? It may burn longer than mine if it is and if it is fed the correct fuel. I know of some folks in the “hollers” here in WV that run that model and have no issues to speak of. Can you get coal in your area? Anthracite coal is AWESOME if you can get it at a decent price. Bituminous is great also if you can get it from a good seam.

I can get coal, not sure what costs around here. Right now I've got more wood than I know what to do with, probably 3 yrs worth
