Get a big steel lock box and bolt it down. Slows them a bit.... silent alarm. You won't need a door lock. Why bother with cell phone cams.... just phone it in. Or, unlock the dog door and hit the automatic exit door close/lock :sisi3:much better video to watch.
I'm betting the thugs would call 911 before you make it over there if you get the right dog.

"911 what's your emergency?" "Um.... we need a medic stat."

Bad guys get all the protection of the law and know it. Yeah, we robbed a guy and got hurt in the process, please help us. They'd get the help and the one they tried to rob would end up paying the medical bills. So much for a system of justice?

I have Autotune and Mtronic saws that are not registered to me. Does that mean I stole them?
Only if the serial number is in the system as stolen. Lol

Last time Charlotte got broken into, I was informing my Stihl and Husky rep. and said they actually have a "team" that keeps an eye out for stolen equipment on the interweb. Both said occasionally they have some success. I believe it's more probable that it may eventually turn up while getting scanned at an authorized dealer.

FWIW, None of the saws that have been stolen (from the last 4 break-ins) have ever turned up OR been returned.

There is a dog on site. I refrained from posting until I found out what happened. Evidently it ain't in his heart to do the job. He has been trained as a bite dog. He returned to his kennel instead of taking a hunk outta someones ass.

The dog we have in Greenville on the other hand is a bad M'fer. He LOVES his job. They only keep a few people as "handlers". Not everyone he's been told not to bite has been, well... the right fit for the job. LOL!! He's a sweet dog, in the right hands. I've seen a training video of him take down a 200+ pound man in a bite suit. pretty impressive to say the least.

I wish I knew you needed a good guard dog. I had to put one down that was a family dog that wanted to "work on" everyone that dog cought a guy breaking into my garage. Guy beat him with a demo bar knocked out teeth broke ribs but Duke gave 155 stitches through a pair of carhearts and a winter coat. He loved to work after that.

I had 32 stitches in my head from a dog named (German Shepard) Duke when I was young while playing. He was a little to protective of the family member.

4 break-ins? Sounds like a lovely place to live. - Where I live in Oz people don't lock things up and will leave the keys in the car so they don't get lost. It's a small village and everybody knows each other, I'd never live in a city again.

Too' many places have low lifes looking to steal and sell, rather than work for it. There's no incentive for too many (and too little consequence). I now understand why they used to hang horse thieves...

And my feelings wouldn't be hurt one bit if they brought it back, regardless of what they steal. It's one thing to steal, that's bad enough, but stealing what a man makes a living with, is lowest of the low.

Yeah, I've been amazed at times at the lack of personal responsibility/quality of conscious that I've run into. You can try to do the right thing, but there are ALWAYS some dirt-bag SOBs out there to take advantage of your efforts.

I'm a combat veteran, done a bunch of stuff. I would have no problem at all at stringing someone up.

Worst thing is, those saws will be on sold for a small fraction of there replacement value. Then there is the damage they did breaking in, turning off the camera's with his crowbar. The time the OP wastes at the police station doing a report, the time making an insurance claim blah blah blah...Countries like Iran don't have overflowing jails and crims on the revolving door going in & out of jail. Crime theft simply don't pay, here's how it goes.
A) On the first occaision amputation of the full length of four fingers on the thief's right hand in such a manner that the palm and thumb remain.
B) On the second occaision, amputation of [part of] the left foot...
C) On the third occaision, life imprisonment.
D) On the fourth occaision, death penalty even though this theft is committed in prison.
Yeah...so its pretty simple really they don't have much of a theft problem, those who do steal don't swing crowbars very well & can't carry much or run very fast. And those who continue to steal dissapear off the face of the earth!
