I'm probably wrong because I wasn't much of a honda guy, but didn't some of them actuate the reverse by pushing down that little button and pulling in the lever then pushing down on the shifter? [emoji2369][emoji2369][emoji2369]

A lot of the older stuff did then later they used that for the parking brake engagement.

Hmmm. Try pulling the parking brake in without setting it, make sure its in neutral and try to shift down.
