^^^=== THIS ===^^^Wayne (dub11) has a nice ported 6100 for sale in the classifieds right now.
Thanks for the welcome, guess I should have introduced myself. I’m a wood carver/sculpture/“artist”(well that’s what I file with the IRS) and like to put up a few giveaways when I join a new form.^^^=== THIS ===^^^
You can scratch both itches, PS-5105 & PS-6100!

Don't fight it, resistance is futile, might just as well yield and enjoy the ride.
I do not feel that my PS-550 (equivalent to EA5600) bogs down easy!
Mine wears a 18" 3/8" B&C setup and does so with pride, still a 100% factory stock.
Just saying.
And, welcome to OPEForum!
I really like my PS-550, can't point out any faults on her.
Is there anyone that you know of that’s done a muff mod on one? I’m definitely interestedBy the sound of my PS-550 a muffler mod is mandatory, I have yet to mod mine though.
Some timing advance might give her a little more attitude as well.
The air filtration is already very good, similar to the one on the PS-6100.
I run 18" 3/8" full chisel on mine, Oregon Vanguard with altered rakers.

I am not a 100% certain, but I think Sondre @SOS Ridgerider had his hands on a EA5600 muffler. Is there anyone that you know of that’s done a muff mod on one? I’m definitely interested
That would be great!I am not a 100% certain, but I think Sondre @SOS Ridgerider had his hands on a EA5600 muffler.
I might be wrong though.
I have to do my PS-550's muffler, when I do I will take pictures and post them.

I did a couple of 550/5600 mufflers a while back. I'll see if I can find the pics somewhere. It definitely gets snappier on the throttle after a mod. That would be great!

I did one where the muffler is gutted, but looks stock, and one where I added an outlet.
@166 Has the saw. Maybe he can share a pic or two.
Hay guys/gals/other thanks for all the info on the saws! I’ve been a long time fan of dolmar! My grandfather had two large sachs when I was growing up. We also had a few dolmar cut off saws. My dad and I have a timber king sawmill and cut 25+ cords of firewood a year. He was a jonhshred fan until he bought som 036 pros and now he’s been a stihl fan. He’s got 4-5 236. They are ok but I liked my 266xp better, way easier to start for my bad shoulders, and my father in law gave them to me. He was a logger and didn’t like them. Some Dbag stole them this spring. I’ve been using a clapped 026, until I figure out what I was going to do. My wife over heard me talking to my brother in law(logger) about getting a ea5000 or ea6000. She grabbed me a ea5600 as a surprise thinking it would be splitting the difference lol. I’m pretty impressed with it but know I’ll want the complete pro saw. Super bummed about makita giving the line the axe! Would you pick up the 5000 or 6000 if you could only have one?im looking used too but not finding squat. Thanks V
Great job! There’s certainly a lot of room there, the first thing I noticed about the saw is how little the muffler was compared to the saw, now I know how my wife felt the first time. Thanks for posting the pictures. I definitely need to get mine done. How did you tweak after?

Maybe from the right angle
After a muffler mod you’ll need to richen it up a bit. Small adjustments on the carb settings. Screw you H screw out until you hear a burble out of the wood at WOT. Then check it in a piece of wood. It should clean up under load, but go back to a light burble when you lift it up with no load.Great job!
