As to the above I have three of them .A lot of people poke fun at them but they do get-er-done .Then again they seldom see much action these days because I have better saws these days as well as the older ones .Usually it's down to two saws ,an 024 Stihl and a souped up 038 Mag .I guess some might think they are old too .Depends on how you look at things .

Was given a Homelite super2 and a PM700 McCulloch, but the first saw I bought was a ProMac 10-10 automatic with the dome filter for 50.00$.
Still have the 700 and super 2 , gave the 10-10 to a friend.

My dad got me a used Husqvarna 136 when I was 15 or 16. Cleared trails in the woods with it. Many years later I loaned it to my father in law who dropped it off for a “friend” to fix it. The guy kept it and when asked denied any knowledge of the saw. Not much value in terms of dollars but pretty annoying I have to say.

First saw I bought myself was my 550XPG a little over a year ago. Quite a difference I have to say.

I need to get the Husqvarna 65 my dad bought new many years ago running again sometime.

Stihl 028 Super. Darn good saw. Still a solid runner.

Actually bought the 028 Super w case and extra case and extra chains. Christmas present for my Dad. Bought based on recommendation of hometown OPE dealer. 7 or 8 years ago Brother in law(now former) had borrowed it, left in truck at Menards. Yup gone. We had engraved with Dad's name.

So months later, guy brings aw to SAME dealer to buy a chain. Dealer see Pop's name, stalled guy while he called Dad, asked if we sold it? Thought odd we would. Pop explained stolen and drove there at at same time police arrived. Guy actually bought it from neighbor. The name of "seller" was well known to cops. Karma eventually. Got the new chain too!

The 038 mag is ported? Was it quite noticable the differance. My stock ones really rip. I thought about getting one ported but was not.sure if worth it.

first saw I ran was probably my Dad's Partner 500 (I think), then his Husq 51 he bought in the late 90's at a farm sale.

first saw I bought (still have it) was a new Husq 450 back in '09 when Dad's 51 got tired & needed a clutch & top end, he didn't wanna spend the money on parts for me to fix it so he bought a Poulan from TSC.

I joined some Chainsaw Forums & everything went to hell in a handbasket ... "Uncle" Rob let me use one of his 026's ported by Brad Snelling & I got the Stihl bug...

in 2011 Rob found a pair of 650's on CL for $300 each, he bought one & I bought the other, way farther down the rabbit hole I've gone since then...

The first one I paid for was a Poulan pro 260. Just got an old farm house & needed to keep up with a large raggy yard. When we started heating with wood, a new 346xp came in soon followed by a used Echo 6700. With the 2 nicer saws at home, the 260 was sold without shedding a tear.

My first saw was a McCulloch 610 with 20" bar and chain. Used it through the winter of 1985 and cut & split 85 cord of wood with my buddy to help feed our families. Fast forward 30 years and I find AS and then OPE. Now have around 50 saws and growing.

First saw I bought, was actually worked off at my Uncles shop. It was an 011AVT. It has cut many pickup loads of wood, in high school I would sell wood to the local folks for camping. It has been an incredible lil saw, still have it, run it occasionally and have only had to do routine maintenance on it!

First saw i baught was a cheap little poulan wild thing. I baught it to help with snowmobile trail maintenance. Few years later i put a wood stove in and that saw cut most my firewood for the first three or four years. I learned fast not to shut it off for more then a couple mins or it would heat soak and not start. Most times i would just fuel and oil it with it running lol.
Later baught another POS poulan crome thing mostly cause it looked cool.
Then i got my echo cs520 which cut a lot of wood. I just passed it down to my son.
And now my collection has went mostly to stihls

A well used Homelite XL12. Needed a clutch and chain and some general high hour maintence. Used it for about 40 years, sold off about 5 years ago. Kinda wish I'd keep that one, but you know how it goes, sometimes ya have to thin the heard

Love engines when I was a kid.
Got CAD when seeing someone cut with a poulan micro xxv.
Bought a used super EZ, with half scored piston. Not much power, but not much wood to cut either.
Few years pasted so fast, bought a nice 038 mag, few months later bought another nice 038 mag cuz I got extra penny. CAD got me so bad from then on.

My first saw was a husky 55, I bought it new 21 - 22 years ago to make some extra money selling firewood. Turns out I have been cutting firewood ever since! I wish I still had the saw for nostalgic reasons.
