Absolutely, before I did it to mine they were the worst sealants for curing in the tube, now it has solved it.

 

[RCBS]

An old shop hand taught me to toss the cap and let 1/2" of material stick out of tube and leave it. (RTVs) It will seal itself and the 'nipple' sticking out the top is easily grabbed and pulled free. Works on cheese whiz cans also to prevent spout clogging. Leave a little loop when done. The other solution I've seen is a tapered plug made of plastic to jam down into the opening.
