Stihl Muffler on Dolkita?

I saw this on Facebook this morning, and it has me wondering. Does this work? Would it make for an easier muffler mod than splitting that PITA Dolmar muffler?

Yes, It would definitely make it easier! No idea about the fit. You can’t anchor the two bottom bolts of the Stihl muffler.

The Dolmar has the third bracket on the top and the cat mufflers also have a tab to the front case.

If you can’t bolt the 2 lower bolts that’s pretty useless. That’s a lot of weight hanging off of the 2 cylinder mounting screws. If you peel apart the stock muffler, clean it out and add a second outlet they flow fine. Opening it up isn’t as bad as people say. Opening a Stihl 361 is way worse.

Opening and modding a Dolmar/Makita 64xx/73xx/79xx muffler is not as bad as some make it to be.
I modded three off my four, only the first was tough, the other two were a breeze.

I wonder if you could fab a bracket to go from the top jug bolt hole to the two top muffler bolts for extra support?

I’ve done it, very easy.
Stretch a couple holes (giggity) and dent one corner, from memory.
Very easy.
