Nice 046 with a new 460 tank installed. Saw got hit on the rear handle and broke the tank. Compression is 168 on my gauge and the saw runs very nice. The top cover and air filter cover have some scratches but overall there in decent shape. I added the larger aftermarket felling spikes and it comes with a dual port muffler cover. Saw is all stock engine wise. ASKING 525.00 plus shipping PHO.

Well, at least I know that my 046 Mag can be rebuilt with flippy caps if I decide to replace the tank housing or if it gets mangled somehow.

I've had about 3 or 4 with that combo. Going to put at least one more together this weekend like that.

W Dr. You say that like it's a good thing?

Not necessarily a good thing. Flippy caps have been the bane of some sawyers, but I've learned to live with them. Occasionally, they save some time but occasionally they snap down unlocked and leak fuel and oil all over the place.

I wish you had offered this saw last year at this price. I had an immediate buyer looking for one and we ended up with an 044 instead. I do have a sawyer looking for an 066, and he might opt for an 046. He wants to do logging with it, so a 30" bar is almost a must and I have one of those bars on board already, unused. A strong-running 046 with a 30" bar might float his boat. I'll see what he says.

TTT Any offers? trades?
I talked to the logger buyer and he's interested in a 650 or larger for under $550 shipped. He's already owned an 046 and made the mistake of selling it ten years ago. The guy who bought it from him allowed it to get stolen out of his unlocked garage.

I explained that this 046 was in very good shape and could very well be all that he needs, but it was a no go. I've actually taken a non-running 046 and installed a big bore kit on it. That beast would run dead even with an MS650. It was a beautiful saw when I completed the work. The owner was really impressed.
