Going to sell this 046 D chamber saw with a 272 Wiseco. Base hasn't been cut or no finger ports. Just set the numbers where I wanted to try and run it. Muffler has a front opening I'll weld a deflector on for the new owner. $700 shipped OBO. Weber handle not included. I have one more 46 to put back together I'm keeping it for. I have a nice chain brake handle but no band. I'll include all the stuff to put it on that I have and swap the starter to the nicer one I have.

I have a new brake band for your buyer.

Yet to be impressed with either, stock 562 or 262. Guess I just havent ran the right one yet. :risas3:

Hope this 1990 K&S 87 carb 262 changes that. If not down the road she goes.

Not to muddle your thread up Mike, but to you and Kevin what is an impressive saw? Guys I talk to that have been around saws their whole life seem to be irritated/unimpressed with almost every saw. Kevin, I know you still have a passion for the old Poulan. I’m assuming there’s a few that you guys would consider keepers at least.

ES = JMO my MM 361 and 036 saws have ran better then my MM 262 mahle 120 carbed saws in past. I just soon run a 60cc poulan then the 262 as the 262 has a different feel in my hands using.

Now folks say the K&S 87 big carb was the best 262. I will soon see first hand if true or not.

7900 and 5200 Poulan for stock saws. Awol 562. I can't think of another stock saw that's really surprising. People over hype them on a the forums so bad it may make them seem worse when I run.

To me two saws stock, that have impressed me over many. Are the 046 mag. And the 288xp I have run the 288xp and 046 in every size wood imaginable. The 288 has never left me undersawed:) The best 20 inch size saw I've ever run, and the only one that ever impressed me was my stock 51 husky with a 20 inch bar, and 3/8 full skip chisel. The thing are wood.

Just to update you folks who I have told over and over 262 do not impress me. Well Guess it is only the mahle and 120 saws that do not impress now.

I must say with only 5 mins of test cutting this 262 impressed me. Not anywhere close to a broke in saw. Just rebuilt with new ring and new crosshatching.
Never said that with the mahle cylinder and 120 carbed 262's.
But this one has K&S cylinder and the bigger 87 carb.
Sounds like a mad hornet in the cuts. All stock notta done, screen and gaskets all still in, no mm etc.
Will be hard to let this one go.

I know what you’re saying. That was the first saw I ever rebuilt then sold it. I couldn’t believe what it was capable of for 45cc.
