Just had same issue on mine... bottom picture is no magnification...and crack is in the top of the shine nearest my hand...barely visible... the top pic is the crack magnified by iphone camera..everytime i tightened down the clutch i could hear the air escaping...found the reason it burned the piston..

I just make sure I really grease the inside of the bushing well to help preclude any leaking.

The o ring was supposed to go on the crank before the bushing

that happens when you tighten the clutch down too much
