Got this by mistake when buying an 026 piston and cylinder off another forum member. Unbenounced to me, the 028 and 026 share a cylinder, but not a piston. That makes me believe with some confidence this is an 028 piston, note the high dome, where the 026 is flat.

For reference, the cylinder is now on the 026 with a meteor piston with and blowing 150psi with a quick scotchbrite clean.

There is a bit of rub on the intake side, maybe new rings would be an idea?

$10 before shipping should motivate me to get to the post office

Looks 028

FWIW, the 026 and 028 share very little. They don't share a cylinder, just a 44mm bore.

The 026/260 came in 44/44.7 bore (260 late only).

The 028 came in 42mm(metal tank), 44mm, and 46mm(super) bores.

The dome is much taller on the 028 slug. The dome on and 026 slug is only .050 high.

They do share a base gasket and bolt pattern, but the 028 jug has much bigger and wider tunnels. It won't sit on an 026 case without a ton of work.

The 026 and 028 definitely DO NOT use the same cylinder... also, a healthy 026 should be up around 180 psi compression.

I guess boxes parts got shuffled at the other members house. That compression test was done with a POS tester that I just found out was leaking with no wood cut on it. I am sure it will go up.

If I have to keep this as a paperweight I will
