I started a thread on AS a few years about about Holy Grail one-man saws. Here's what I came up with after some input from everyone else -

1. Comet Diesel (Jonsered XA would work, too)
2. Dolmar KMS-4
3. Dolmar 166
4. Echo CS-1201
5. Echo CST601EVL twin
6. Homelite 7-29 or 8-29
7. Homelite 770 GS Stick Shift!
8. Husqvarna MS90
9. Jonsered XF
10. Jonsered 110/111/111S
11. McCulloch SP125
11. McCulloch 895C
12. Poulan 655BP
13. Remington Super 880
14. Stihl BLK 57/58 (with full military kit)
15. Stihl Contra S
16. Stihl Contra G/GS or 090G
17. Solo Twin

Alphabetical order, of course, but I'd put the Solo Twin at/near the top. A 10 Cube Stihl 090 would top it, but I don't think these were production saws.

Nice saw, be interesting to see how crazy the price goes!

Shouldnt #5 be a 610 not a 601? (and does the JD66sv count too?)

My list also includes a Solo Rex

Yes. Should be 610.

I would agree with Solo Super Rex. A regular Solo Rex is easy to come by, inexpensive, and fairly common, at least in Europe.

According to members on Magnus' Website - there's also the Echo CST-600 Twin, CST-611 Twin, and the CST-651 Twin - which is the rarest and the largest displacement of that line.

600 being the first version of the twin; a 611 being an updated version of the 610, and the 651 being the "Hoss".

I ran a 600 once. That was one smooth saw!
