The 681 has the best factory power band of any saw I've run. With a good chain they're about as good as is gets IMO. I have ported saws from builders and the stock 681 is muh fave.

I thought the same for the 665, stock form was pretty impressive

IMG_1622.JPG Could use some help here, bought this partial 680 yesterday. It's missing all its intake/carb bits, clutch cover and top cover. Surprisingly the p&c look great and nothing's locked up. No spark, but I haven't checked all the wires for nicks or anything yet.

Looking around it seems like parts are hard to come by. How difficult is it going to be to find these parts ? Are there any other saws that are compatible ?

Thanks

603, 670, 680 & 690 all share the same chassis.

May have some of what you need.

IMG_1711.JPG Hey thanks. I actually got lucky and a guy on Facebook happened to have one with a bad top end. He made me a deal on that saw and I put the two together. Runs pretty good !

I may be interested in a clutch cover though. The one that's one there appears to have had a runaway clutch at some point so it's got the big circular hole in it. If anyone has a decent one I may be interested.

I sure like the look of that bar on that saw, but not for more $$$ than a new 880.

Anyone know what changes were made from the 643 to the 643ip? From looking at the ipls I see no decomp on the 643ip a carb change, flywheel change and ignition change although specs appear to have stayed the same. Anything Im missing?

Hello gentlemen I have a 651 sp with a toasted p/c. Is there any honey holes for Solo parts around here or any were on the interweb?

Thanks. Wayne
P.S. Its a pretty clean saw I could part with it if someone needed it.

Wayne, I'm new to Solos but I just got a little 643ip running. I'd start at chainsawr, you can search their inventory but also pull the parts list there. Get the part numbers you need and then google them and see what comes up. You can also then use those parts numbers to search at Solos website and order new from them although I havent tried that yet. Best of luck.

I got lucky and got a parts saw off ebay that worked. I also found some parts on the United Kingdom ebay site. I didn't order any because the parts saw became available but they had more parts for sale there. Ebay.uk.com I think, you'll just have to check on the shipping to see if they will ship to the US.
