Wanting to buy a complete (or nearly) solo 644, 651, or 656 saw. Hoping someone has one with a hosed top end or crank that is decent otherwise. Appreciate your time.

Not sure if this one shares any parts.
Sounds about right, you post them on ebay?Wish I’d seen this sooner, I just stripped down a bunch of 644-651’s.
Gotcha, I've been trying to run my green 651sp some lately and keep having oiling problems. It had a stripped worm, happened to have another one so I replaced it. Worked great for a bit then quit oiling again so I don't know what the deal is now.No, I run 644-651-651sp and a 656 almost every week so I just consolidated my junk/parts saws that way I knew what was junk and what was good. I might have a 651 left together I’ll have to look.
I actually turned it down some after I replaced the worm because it had so much oil so pump shouldn't be an issue. It could honestly be as simple as the bar holes being plugged, I was cutting really dry oak. Was irritated so I switched saws and haven't even looked at it yet. The washer is there and looks to be correct. Didn't see any evidence that anyone had been in there before, it seems to have sat most it's life. Really hoping it didn't strip the worm again, they aren't exactly easy to find.Sometimes them pumps need taken apart and cleaned the oil screen let’s alota stuff thro in my opinion and if the worm gear is stripped again it probably doesn’t have the washer that goes underneath it or the correct one.
