I added this pic on another thread the other day.

I was on holiday (Sal, Cape Verde) last week. I got back home @4am this morning 🥱
This is a Wahoo and 130 cm, aprox 15kg
It was a big sea whilst we were out easily 2.5mt swell and doing 6/7 knots was fun for me But not so good for 3 of the Spanish passengers 🥴🤮 . & The Norwegian guy and his girlfriend were fine

If the wahoo was kept, and you may already know this, but cutting into steaks it is excellent on the grill!

Yes I agree. But unfortunately being a holiday maker. Most peeps just want to fish and actually don’t ask about the fish caught.
Ironically. Me and the Norwegian guy asked what this fish is worth and other fish that could be caught.

The direct questions were avoided and no monetary value was discussed..

I really didn’t care as it was a holiday and I had an all inclusive holiday.
However if I was to go again, I would be more careful and ask about fish caught. rather than be a paying customer for zero return
But I would think it could become a you get the head and we have the rest conversation 😴
Really. Ilm just happy to actually have reeedl that fish in and know I got more value than those other guys

But don’t forget. I paid more than the Norwegian guy, by €30 just because I went to a more reputable sales shop 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Another way to look at it is. Everyone is on holiday. It don’t matter what you sell. Your sell something.and make more or less depending on your sales tec and feed back. Etc.
So the place I went to will get an over priced review if I ever make one!… and everyone else on the trip will say it a little differently

I do appreciate the boat cost money, the two guys need wages for+the day. And that boat sucks fuel more per second than than a hoe in day can..
i do think that boat drank 200 ish lts @€1ish a litre

However I will not be going back for a yr or so.. and probably will not get on that boat Again . And also be more careful next time🤦‍♂️

I catch a few of those guys. They fry up just fine when ya' can't find the walleyes.
I'm up in the hills no walleye waters close by, but a few with nice fat perch and crappies.

My favorites are wild trout. Some brookies in spawning colors from a Wilderness area pond in Green Mt National Forest,
followed by some spring ones from headwaters Battenkill/the outlet of the same pond.

I was stationed in SE. AK. for awhile when I was in the service. Best seafood on earth, period. What's your home port?
Thanks for your service.
I was born and raised on Prince of Wales Island. We now live in South Central and fish out of Seward and Whittier.

I was stationed in Petersburg. Spent 2 seasons cruising around the inside passage. We'd patrol Dixon Entrance in the summer and anchor up in those bays on the south end of P.O.W. Some held fish, some didn't. Best fishing I ever experienced in my life was off Forester Island, west of P.O.W.

I do a lot of sea fishing in Ireland and the uk.
Ive only fished once since the beginning of January due to work.

We get a lot of rays. Thornbacks, small eyeds, spotteds, blondes, undulates and stingers. Common and blue skate are caught too.

This is an average size thornback.

This is a dab, our most common flat fish. However, at 34cm and just under a pound this one is a monster.

That’s awesome! I’ve fish a lot of that as well. Used to fish on a buddy’s power troller for a couple summers.
