Couple of bonus gravel sharks today.
Spent a little time at the vise last night. First tying since last spring. View attachment 479727
Friend of mine is tying for a jig company now and set up a Facebook page just to do something extra. Ty Ties Jigs. He posted some pictures of today as well. Doesn't do much fly tying though.

I do a lot of sea fishing in Ireland and the uk.
Ive only fished once since the beginning of January due to work.

We get a lot of rays. Thornbacks, small eyeds, spotteds, blondes, undulates and stingers. Common and blue skate are caught too.

This is an average size thornback.

This is a dab, our most common flat fish. However, at 34cm and just under a pound this one is a monster.

I dont normally share the spots I fish but since most of you are on the other side of the Atlantic I think its fairly safe.

This is the slieve league peninsula in county donegal. This is a particularly deep rock mark. The rocks drop off almost vertically below the surface. Its luke fishing off the top of an almost entirely submerged cliff. There's 200ft if water withing range if you can send it far enough.

Nearly every species of fish in our waters can be caught here.

This was a funny surprise last August.
The sea cucumber, or as I like to call it: "the n1&&3r's schlong"

Octopus are a fairly common catch during the winter months. Theyre meant to make fantastic bait for big predatory fish but i can't bring myself to kill one.

The north Wales coastline. Deep water and fast tides, dont fall in.
