I have a beautiful example of an 044 for sale.

I bought this saw from a member/collector on here, and have realized that I don't really deserve to be the steward of this beautiful saw. It has just been sitting on the shelf with my other saws, and I'm worried that it will just collect dust, and get banged up and faded.

Snelling pieced this saw together from almost entirely NOS parts. It has a stock slant fin cylinder, stronger 12mm crank, early style plastics with metal tags, HD filter, and a dual port muffler. It is kind of the "greatest hits of the 044" build.

Brad's description: "I built it from scratch, starting with NOS cases. The orange covers are the earliest style for the HD filter, thanks to TRX250R. The tank was used, but in like new condition, thanks to Wiggs. The recoil, clutch cover, and loop handle are new. The saw is all OEM, with the exception of a Meteor piston. It's a 12mm saw, but is wearing a nice 10mm cylinder and flywheel."

Brad claims that it has only been ran in the wood once, at a GTG in like 2013.

The left side case half has a couple of small paint chips on it, which I think were present on it when Brad got the NOS cases. They have just chipped a tiny bit more, as seen in my photos.

Here are his photos of it: https://photo.blsnelling.com/Chainsaws/NOS-044-Build/i-rkGSL8d/A

I am posting this here because I don't know what to do about this saw - should I send it for porting, should I run it, should I sell it, should I replace it with a runner? Ultimately, money talks. I'm thinking that if I can get $1500+shipping for this saw, I might as well sell it. Otherwise, maybe I'll use it. I would take a used, ported, metal tag 044 plus cash for this as well. Or any 044 Arctic plus cash.

Feel free to ask any questions, criticize, comment, make offers, or whatever.

I talked it through with my wife last night, and now I'm thinking I might as well send it to Randy and get it ported and just frickin' use it. She literally told me to "pop its cherry." lol

She told me to stop treating saws like trading cards! I think she's right.
