Thanks for reviving the thread! LOL
I just have the handle guard to add to my GB Wildlife Hatchet and a stock HB Almike hatchet. And a little leather pouch to hold my Artic Fox sharpening puck.
I did a job for someone and they gave me a REI giftcard. So I reinvested it into the hobby. I bought the HB Almike hatchet. [emoji2] [emoji106]

TY sir. I was using ax a couple of weeks ago to limb a tree branch and already have several scuffs on the leather handle saver. It definitely works. Lol

A bit off topic but do you guys with the stitched only axe covers have any issues with the axe cutting the stitching?
My grandfather taught me to rivet the front for that reason. Obviously using copper rivets to save the edge.
Is there something else in those covers I'm not seeing?

There is usually a thick leather welt between the 2 halves that prevents the ax blade from reaching the stitching. If you are referring to the masks.

Rightoh, I'm in Australia, hence the different terminology.
But yeah that makes more sense to me now, I didn't think you blokes would be happy about an item that only lasted until the axe cut the stitching.
I only make my own and they're make for working axes not for sale or show, hence the copper rivets.
But those ones you are showing certainly look pretty (I mean that in a nice way)

Either way. As long as it protects your axe and prevents you from getting sliced by it, your all good! If you make them, please post a few pics in here.
