I know I have a hard time finding seals and info on them. Like what size I need for a certain saw. Could we start a seal form? Like good place to buy them? Just a thought

Years ago there was a local place named Bearings inc. It was the place for hard to find stuff like this. Then poof it was gone.
Recently I was told it got bought by Applied Industrial Technologies.

I have not dealt with AIT.
What was nice about Bearings Inc was I could walk in and they could parts match what I needed.

What I have found these days you walk in a place like that and the first thing they ask is what is it out of. No we aint got nothing like that. Thats why I quit dealing with NAPA auto parts.

I think you can still order a print catalog from Motion Industries, which is what I did years ago. You'll find measurementss and cross-references for hundreds of types of seals and bearings in one and it helps greatly when shopping for seals for a particular application.

A number of us have master interchange books on seals .Mine is from Bearings Inc . I think you can find interchange info on the internet . It helps if you have the seal number which should be embossed on it some place .In my situation I've always been able to find the seals but some times it takes a lot of research .I might further add in some cases a chainsaw dealer might say they are no longer available which only means the can't get them through their normal supply channels .It doesn't mean you can't find find them .

I just checked flea bay and there are several copies of the CR plus National seals interchange books for relatively in expensive prices .Of course in typical E-Bay fashion some that are costly .

Napa over here has pretty good clerks still
I just bought some bearings for tractor there.
Having the numbers is a big help.

Was able to cross match numbers from Sierra and
Prime Line PE. NAPA alsp has Toro #s and likely others.

SKF Sealfinder is very helpful, just type in the dimensions and a list of possible options will appear.
