From Leslie Hill - Team Rubicon Chainsaw Operators (edited for length)

For sawyers who stow their scrench in (pack) webbing, here's a simple way to make the attachment a bit more secure.

Slice off a 1/4" wide piece of an old wheelbarrow inner tube, and then replicate what you see in the pics. If the band is a little too long, wrap the band over the top of the scrench before placing the driver tip through the loop.

I have a bunch of old bicycle tubes: I suppose that I could cut them on a bias /angle to get the right length band (I use flat-free tires on my wheelbarrow!).

This arrived from Amazon. Similar to a mod I did, with spray paint and a length of boot lace, several years back, but factory made, with a 1/2” ID ring welded to the tip, instead of a drilled hole.

Could be a good choice for many folks. Not sure if the welded ring might interfere with some full wrap handles, or digging for deep spark plugs.

I like both versions, however I can see that welded eyelet getting in the way on some saws.

Mabe worth trying to weld that eyelet on the underside close to the shaft 👀
