Saw comparable to a 550xp?

I have a 550xp that has slight piston damage, acts like the idle should be adjusted to not idle so fast (air leak?), takes about 8 pulls to start cold but is in overall great cosmetic shape. I use it a lot for clearing fence rows and firewood under 16". Are there trouble areas with the 550? Do they take specific block off plates like a 576 in order to do a compression test?
Out of curiosity, what is a non pro saw that is comparable to the 550?

Chech the transfer cover seals. The non xp 550 is the 545.

I'd take a 545 over a 550xp, but prefer a 346xp anyway.

Mine blew a base gasket and acted exactly like that. It wasn't an oem gasket though.
