I have a guy with a 166 and it needs a piston. I found one on ebay, but it’s almost $200 and it comes from germany. Is there another piston that will fit? Does anyone happen to have a piston laying around or sitting on a shelf in a dusty box?

Edit: the ebay piston is not even oem, it’s a knock off.

I'm looking for a 166 piston my own self. I think I would be willing to have a go at one of those aftermarket pistons...

I think Kevin (cut for fun) had to replace one in his .He found I think several .Talk was about attempting another piston but I think the piston pin was either 14 or 15 MM and a rod bearing to adapt a smaller pin to the 166 rod was found to be impossible to find at the time . If my info correct is the 166 has a long stroke,48 MM but uses a 56 MM piston which is the same as a Husky 2100 and a Partner P100 much else than that's all I know .

Thanks! I let him know about the german ebay piston and he wants to go that route. I might have the saw by this weekend.
He said someone worked on it before it melted, and the case was never separated. I’m hoping for an easy topend fix.
