Hi folks
I had an ms660 brought to me today to briefly check over but it and several others like it will be back for birthdays.

It had a busted inner top mount broken out which I am sure is a common issue with saws used rough by full time tree workers like this bloke

I also have an 044 here waiting on a rebuild with the same issue.

I am interested to know if anyone has come up with a good tough reliable way to fix this issue?

I don't see jb weld working for long.

My 044 is worse as it has taken the entire top corner off back to and including the first number on the serial number

@jmssaws im sure you see this one a lot?

I sent 3 to Shaun for welding once. JB weld will hold up pretty good. Seen a few with that repair when I was buying stuff from ebay.

Long term I would weld it. Like Mike said, JB weld will work for a while. Some guys will also use a longer bolt through the spike with a nut and washer on the inside of the ear.
