How many of you guys that build/rebuild a lot of saws buy supplies in bulk?

Specifically Fuel Line, Fuel Filters, Plug Wire, Starter Cord, etc.?

I ask because I am about to replenish my stock and wondered if anyone has any advice on what to buy/what not to buy (quality/lack thereof), and where you found the best prices on the best products?

I need 1/4" OD x 1/8" ID fuel line.
A couple dozen fuel filters that will flow enough fuel for a 6 cube.
5mm plug wire

Thanks

I use MFG also .With them shipping is one flat rate weather it's one item or a ton of stuff .

If there's one thing I've learned ,if the saw uses a molded fuel line you're better off to bite the bullet and pony up the money as to fart around trying to use tubing and have it leak all over the place .Catch one on fire sometime., you'll see exactly what I mean .

For fuel line get Echo line from your dealer, the same dealer should have an account with Rotary and be able to get you their Husqvarna replacement fuel filters, 9227 is the number I think, they both work excellent.

To the op....

Don't forget. ..you are posting in a forum for an aftermarket parts supplier. I find it odd that nobody has mentioned hl supply yet.

Bulk spark plug wire and echo fuel line....eBay. the rest...buy here at hl supply.

Thank you for doing that video, great info that is not available. I watched the first video you made on the fuel lines and have been as frustrated as you. Kudos to you for taking the time to do the research and then sharing with everyone! Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback thus far.

I have been using oregon fuel line when a molded line isn't required, but will be looking at the echo offering.

How about crank bearings - 6202 and 6203?

the one thought I have on using the larger diameter line through the stock tank hole is creating a choke point

295, yes, I pointed this out after I made the video and in the comments. I measured the choke point of a stock husky line, and its about 3/32" open, and the chubby echo stuff is 5/64" open... so yes, there is a constriction. I don't know how much this will affect performance, I suspect zero, but still, it is there.

I like the black echo line. Works great for anything that uses a weighted filter. Especially for gasser rc aircraft

Josh,
I used this place and have been pleased with the products and service on carb kits. I don't know if I would buy metal stuff from them.

check them out.

let me know where you get the echo line from.

I have bought filters from china via ebay same with sprockets and bar nuts.

Matt,

you didn't ask for input and I may be alone here but...

I think if you limit your videos to 1-2 minutes more people would watch them. I don't have a long enough attention span.

just trying to help by providing some feedback

all the best

I need to get a roll of Echo line. At the moment I have rolls of Tygon, but lately I haven't been impressed with what I've been seeing with that stuff. It gets hard real quick.

In the past I would buy bulk fuel lines, impulse lines and intakes from Huztl for the popular Stihl models that I get in.
But they don't fit like OEM so now I get them from my dealer when needed.

Bearings I have been getting from McMasterCar.
I have had good luck with Huztl oil seals in bulk.

Carb kits I started getting them from Carb Tech 21 for when I need a bunch of them.

Otherwise I order as much as I can from DDave.

No worries at all David. I'm fine w/ constructive criticism, especially the kind that i know already :) My vids are not necessarily intended to be light watching vids, but a reference for those that need them. So, in order to accomplish that goal they need to have a certain length. Also, consider that I usually shoot 1.5 hours of video to condense down to 20 minutes or so. Its an enormous amount of work on my end. Worse, lately, it hasn't been paying off. :(

And yes, I know i'd do much better if my vids included kittens or bikinis. oh well

Speaking of bulk supplies, I just bought a chain breaker and spinner. Who has the best deal on rolls of chain?
