This is one of my first few posts on this forum. Some may know me from ArboristSite, good or bad, but I would hope most would say I behave pretty well.

I compiled a list of chainsaw models which I believe to be of good quality. Some models are very old, some are newer. I intend the list to be a reference for inexperienced saw users buying their first used saw. I wish I had had a reference when I was a young man so that I would not have had to endure such crappy saws when I first got started cutting firewood and doing chores around the farm. Purchase of a good used pro-level saw, I argue, is money well spent.

This list is located on my personal business website. The saw page is not technically a commercial site, though the rest of my site is, but I created the saw site there mostly so I could have full control over it and because I could.

PM me if interested in viewing it, or to help me add more models to the list. I didn't put a link to it here because some may construe it as a commercial post, which is frowned upon, especially from newbies.

Yes, post it. If you're not selling something, it won't be a commercial post.

He did say it’s on his personal business website. I would get a moderator to check it out and make the decision whether he can post it or not…

Thanks for review. I will eliminate unintended dupicates.

I will research the models you listed.

Please send any of those orange and white saws ending in 4 to me, they are absolute garbage and I will dispose of them for you! Just kidding any stihl with a 4, 024, 044, 064, 084, are a little lighter and fantastic in the tree and better when modded. All of these will be old and be projects but theres nothing like an 044/46 hybrid or a 064 with a 066 top end for power to weight. And an 084 is a least 2 lbs lighter than a 088.
