Yea, I was watching a guy in a tree one time, and I stopped him from cutting the wrong branch … his ground guy was not paying any attention at all!!!

He was also slow as a sloth, and they ended up calling in another crew to finish it up. The second crew, operated like a Swiss Watch!

It is. We always just called them giant.
There is a pair that I see quite often in the woods, along with 3 or 4 owls too. I hear the owls more than I see them though

Well be down in Orlando this summer, for a conference. I'm going to look into what I need to do in order to drive something back and what kind of cost I'll incure as sometimes when you go to register out of state vehicles they have charges they hit you with .
I've done a little, but I have a masters in the theory of climbing:risas3:. I have a lot of gear as I've been gathering pieces whenever I see deals, many times it's come with saws and I just buy the whole lot and when the saws sells the gear is free :applaudit:.
There's a lot of reading material on treebuzz which is a forum more dedicated to climbing and those owning tree businesses, I use the same username over there. You can look around on the net and find a local recreational climbing group as most areas have them, it's gotten quite popular recently, I'd hope the guys there would let you try their equipment out, similar to a gtg we'd have :).
If you don't have any gear you can buy a kit that has everything in it you need to start, but I wouldn't buy a cheap eBay kit myself.
I have everything needed for SRT and DDRT, double rope is much cheaper as you don't need all the mechanical pieces such as ascenders, descenders....but getting into the tree is a lot of work if hip thrusting .
One Of the first things I'd buy is a big shot and a throw bag kit(the kit comes with bags, line and a cube to store the line). You can use it to set lines for climbing and pulling trees(which can help pay for it :D), video below of the throw line and bag/ball, just search big shot for a video of how they work.
Great guy to follow, lots of info and he has a blog as well.
He has videos of what he has in his climbing bag which can be helpful.

Awesome! Sounds good, let me know when and we can meet up for some drinks and food.

I'll def check those videos out, I have some gear including a hard hat, glove bag, carabiniers for my saws and what not but I'm going to be looking into some DDRT gear for sure. I know how to zip line branches down, I was taught that being a groundie. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can, I enjoy it and looking forward to going to the next level! [emoji16]

Found the elusive 10mm SK wrench

Made a Paracord handle for my new i3e EOS light

Here's some Focus fun for you @ChipsFlyin and & @Steve Pulled all that for $10. Got those rare discontinued floor mats, black visors (YES!) SES cup holder, chrome AC vents, badge, LED lic plate bulbs, ect. Filter was literally brand new web tho I run a cone filter and the guy gave me the plugs which tested out ok, more weight to the scrap pile I guess there was a ZX5 hatch, green Mk1, white Mk1.5 and 2 Mk2's one that was a Black on Black SES and a mint green SE which are both rare. Might have to go pull the interior next week depending on how much $ I make! There's a yard 6 miles from my new house, I suspect lots of digging around there! Loving the little upgrades in my '10, can't tell you how long I've been wanting black visors and chrome vents.

Yea, that is a Pileated Woodpecker, they get very big … one landed on a tree 30 yds from me when I was hunting in the Catskills this year.

Woody Woodpecker was a Red Headed Woodpecker. The back of their head is rounded.

Decades ago, on a tract of NYC-DEP land close to here, I saw a huge Red Headed Woodpecker two days in a row. I did not realize at the time that Red Headed ones were not supposed to get that big, or I would have tried to get a pic (I was just bow hunting for deer). This guy was as big as any of the Pileated Woodpeckers I have seen, and I've seen some big ones. When he flew, the white and black contrast in his wings was just awesome to watch.

I did not realize how unusual what I saw was until years later, or I would have reported it. I got very close to him on both days, and saw him very clearly.
