Which saw shop? I may have to grabe some while im up there in a few weeks. Eveyone out here carrys the hard plastic forrester ones...
It's a ways north of Syracuse but if your coming that far then we should meet and have a beer. :) It's in the town of Fulton. They run an auto shop, do lawnmowers and other lawn equipment, and chainsaws.

That’s a pain this time of year these heavy rains on hard dry lands running off like hell swelling the waterways

Actually we are super saturated here. Same storm blew over some grain bins south of me which is really poor timing with harvest around the corner.

So that dude is going to have a mess for awhile!
I took a rather large one a buddy had put down. Was impossible to split by hand. Had to rent a splitter. The chit in the center of the stacks is now rotting before its drying completely. The rest burns fast as balsa wood!

I'd use cottonwood if I had some sort of hopper on my stove to load a rick in for a 24hr burn...maybe. I've burned it before, really hot too, but had to put more in every half hour. I'd be lucky to get more than 1-2hr stuffing the stove full and burning it slow.

I'ts a kind of Poplar
That's what I'm saying, glad I have other choices.
We have cottonwood out here but its all residential planted. We have troves of oak and hickory.
I see a good bit of it here in yards, their typically big and nasty .
We are on a nice little lot here just outside of town, it's 2.6 acres. We have a nice variety of trees; red oak, pin oak, white oak, silver maple, sugar maple, cherry, black locust, mulberry, catalpa, box elder and one nice hickory, whoops also walnut Chinese elm, all of which in my opinion are better than cottonwood(I don't have any though anyway), but elm can be a bear to split.

We'll see, it's a pretty nice neighborhood. What's funny is the hood is old enough that there are some large trees there and they are getting past due to be taken down, there are a few that have been taken down to like 15-20' o_O.

Ok guys, I made a video of that tree. First video n youtube that I put my ugly mug in and talk to the camera. Kind of broke the ice. Let me know what you think.
Good stuff buddy.
If I make my backcut wrong, depending on how deep I made it, I'll put a wedge in the bottom cut as well as right above it in the top cut and follow up with two more the same way if needed.
That saw sure sounds good.

Couldn't find my new Makita saw. Then I looked up lol. View attachment 197277 View attachment 197278
This guy was one of many I saw today both green and brown.
Also saw a milk snake and a brown snake. The brown snake was only about 10-12".
Every time I got my phone where it would focus he'd reach out to it lol.

I have a few falling videos on my channel, only one went 100% as intended .
I'd still do one, but I'm usually not wanting to break out the camera/phone when on jobs, especially when there's customers around.
That house/cabin sure had a lot of crap on the roof .

I don't think he's on the lake association, but you can be sure a neighbor will call the township :cursing2:.
I need to remember to check and see if I can get a nice log or two, he'd be happy about it, but he might not like the tracks from my tractor .

They are going to put a new roof on the cabin and wanted the tree gone before they begin. I think they should have let me drop it on the cabin so they could start over. I think they would be farther ahead lol.
