There are some cool cops out there, for sure.

I had one in front of me as an escort in the middle of the night, hauling a 20” wide frame for something in the offshore industry. Can’t remember.
The tunnels are too narrow to meet other trucks with that kind of load, and he was there to clear them before we got there.
There was him, one lead car with signage, me, and a follow car with signage. It snowed pretty good that night. We got to a sign for an open scale, and the cop said over walkie “ Just pass them. I don’t feel like dealing with them right now”. I just said ok, and we passed them. The guy in the follow car got nervous and swung in to the scale. They were all jumping up and down in there, asking who the hell I thought I was.
The cop got back on the walkie and told me to get off at the the next rest area and wait for him there while he took care of business.
1/2 hour later he got back with a huge grin on his face. Just said “That took care of them. When I’m the lead, I’m in charge. Easy as that”. I just laughed and we rolled on:risas3:
There sure are, sounds like the one you were working with was pretty fun:cop1::clapclap:.
This guy was just writing a ticket he had written many times before, gotta collect the revenue.

I think it's interesting that they let you guys haul all the wide loads at night, to me it makes good sense to haul them when there is less traffic, our permit loads here have to be hauled during daylight hrs which is smart so guys don't hit anything, but it can sure mess traffic up.
