Dismal ice fishing,, but a fantastic day to be out,, sat in a T shirt, about 8 inches of ice.
If you look at the the lake edge you will see the ice is up a bit as the lake is slowly going down,, this caused the lake to sing and ping and bang all day.

Wife says I should have brought the chainsaw.
I didn't want to check it.

I know nothing about blacktail deer, but if those were whitetails in my part of the country they would not see another sunrise !

I would shoot them but this is in town and deer season ended 4 months ago.

My better half did it a couple of years back. Camp is as far as her friends got.

I figured it'd be too many people or I'd have gone with her. Sounds like it's not too busy so I may do it with her. No doubt she'll be into going back. Neighbor's son in law is a climbing and backcountry ski guide at Yosemite and other places. He sometimes gets hired to run up and haul climbers kit down for them. Does it in a day.
