Change the oil in the car, finally trying what all the magazines and internet people say... run one less quart of oil from the pan manufacturers recommend spec. It’s a 7 quart pan so I did 6. Wow what a difference! View attachment 295898View attachment 295899 It revs so much better, feels like 40 more hp!

Cars come in all the time 3-4 quarts low on oil. If everybody's doing it it must be better! :D

I don’t putmany miles a year so I only change the oil once or twice a year. It takes 9 quarts to read on the dipstick, so I have started there, been taking about a 1/2 quart out per oil change. I get nervous pulling oil, but it seems really happy with 6 quarts. And am surprised it made a difference, the oil in the pan must have been hitting the crank. I need to make a custom dipstick. I need to gets new radiator too, I have a tiny leak, not enough to really be a problem, it doesn’t leave a puddle. I also need better fans,

A few summers ago I got in a 14, 15ish Silverado for a "engine lacks power, won't accelerate".
I drove it, they were not kidding.
After talking to the customer, this started a couple days prior, after a they got their oil changed at a quick lube place..
Yeah, 16 quarts in an 8 quart system.
Ran like a boss on 8 quarts.

Was at the inlaws last weekend in Black Hills, S.D. and had a rain/hail storm then had a good heavy frost one morning.
We are to be around 35 for a low tonight here in IA. Guess I'll light a fire in the stove tonight....

How's this for a random photo? I'll spare you all the pic of the purple and green foot. This was last summer, put quite the damper on any activities. Slight bicycling incident involving skinny road tires and sand. All because the Dr told me to lose a few lbs....hey! Pass me a beer!
