Mud in WA was “normal”, wash off with a hose. Desert Adobe clay is the devil. Greasy slippery sticky and concrete when it dries. Doesn’t hardly come off with a pressure washer wet or dry. Finally figured out to let it dry on vehicles, drive on washboard roads to rattle off, finish with rubber mallet, pressure wash residue.

Avoid...

But it’s nice to get the dust down n see desert flowers n trees growing, etc.

Recall I said I worked on an estate that was mostly a cattle ranch? I am the MajorDomo of the place most of the time, and take care of many duties during the winter the volunteers aren't around for since they mostly come for spring-fall. One of them is looking after the livestock.
One cold wet winter day I was too late moving a cattle feeder(prolly due to the drugz), and one of the calves got stuck and trampled and died in the muck around it :(
I went up to move the feeder and shu the mother away so I could remove the dead calf without being killed. That was work in itself. It wasn't easy to even get to the body, and it was heavier and more entrenched in to the mud than I expected. It took a lot of effort just to free it. I was almost exhausted just doing that bit. Half way out of the mud, about ready to pass out now, the mud took one of my boots off. It was about 30*F and sleeting, and I fell over on to my back with the dead calf falling on top of me.
Just a terrible day. That one I won't ever forget.

Chilly morning. Good thing for the stove. Nice and toasty inside.
