In 2011 I was camping in Medicine Bow and woke up to one ripping brush out of the ground. It seemed to be pretty upset over something. After what seemed to be a two hour stand of with it staring right at me from about 100 feet! It quietly left thank God. I'm guessing it's rack was 6 feet wide. I was told afterward that my 300 WSSM would not have stopped him from destroying us.
Most scared I have ever been from the wildlife.
Medicine Bow range: Family vacation '56 & '57. Wonderful place for this then twelve year old.
Rode horses, hiked woods, chased porky pines and caught tiny trout on worms.
