I might as well have not heated and cooled them. The first half slid right on the shaft, but the second half wouldn't even try. I had to hammer it the whole way, but the bearing wanted to go instead of the case, so then I had to pound the other side of the shaft to get the bearing back in place, then I had to hammer the other case half since hammering the shaft to move one bearing moved it out of the other bearing. It's a good thing I used a bit of 1184 on the gasket, or I wouldn't trust the seal as much as I only half way do now.

I wonder how case halves normally go together?

Cases in the oven at 275 degrees. Crank in the ice maker. Use oven mitts. Be quick about it. Gasket in place w/three headless locator screws. Have the oil pump mounted.

Only displaced one bearing once out of ten. I should have had the oil pump fitted on that one.

And, be quick!! Plastic or wood mallet at the ready!

was your trimming done with a 880 and a 6 foot bar
Well it would be a Mac 101 if I ever did it that way...F754F539-8249-4370-9645-94118E39CC79.jpegobligatory Mac pic!

But I “really” use a kombi, with an fs250r powerhead with an articulating hedge trimmer attachment, I love the combo! The 250 kombi is so much fun!
