Tom Sawyered my nephew into doing the ball joints on the other side of the cummins! He did a great job. Just under 2 hours with some direction from me. My knees and legs are happy today!

Not a bad thing in my opinion. The young man is gaining knowledge and some skills. I do fear that the whole apprenticeship/training philosophy in giving young men some marketable skill has been largely lost in our country. (Although I do understand "Tom Sawyered" is not exactly that...). Not many young men even know how to change a flat tire these days.

Truth!! It like it frowned on to actually work!! But with lawsuits and rules, I could not hire someone under 18 to work and I get it but still, some kids would work but are not really employable. Like hiring a neighbor kid to mow or do anything, your breaking the law!

Thanks for the DC info Bigmac. I really appreciate it.
I'm just getting back into competition saws after a 20 year break just organizing and running a annual local logger sports event.

Here would be an interesting hotsaw build. 2018 KTM 250/300 fuel injected 2 stroke. They're out to keep the 2 stroke in the future.

The TRX, is a great platform, lots of engine support! 363 Esr cylinder can be made to make it mid 60s for horsepower and right around 50 foot pounds, And be all day rideable some guys are getting into the 70s with a little peeky power curve on gas the the 350 cylinder is cheap!

The biggest problem i have with an apprentice right now is they dont care. They pay them 15 bucks an a hour and they are ok with it. As long as they show up they get their wage. No ambition to try to better themselves. Its sad. Just sad.

I told my nephew yesterday he is going home with me to put some ball joints in this truck. He said ok and it kinda shocked me. But he went and he worked and he conquered!

Yes, in NY starting next year all trucks and trailers with a lift axle are required to upgrade to a steerable lift:BangHead:

Those 3x1 configurations are much better turning than the 2x2 with the heavy duty front axles on trucks , overloading the front isn’t too much of a problem
Over here most are rated at 9.5 - 10 tons

What’s your max weight for rigid 8 wheelers
