That's a good price for cast, and an outstanding price on sheet metal. Sounds like you got screwed on the aluminum and batteries. I suppose prices differ from yard to yard and from different regions; and prices can change over night.
The only cool thing with the bottom falling out was how much more American made products cam back! I was getting tied of seeing China shovels, it’s not like a shovel is hard to make! They were paying record prices for scrap,shipping it to China and shipping it back cheaper than we could make it! At least that has changed! It almost surprising how fast it changed, any you started seeing made in USA products.Yup. The cast has remained fairly steady since the bottom dropped out of it a few years ago. At one point it was just over $400 a ton.
Everything else seems to change daily here.

I have a lot of barred owls. Wouldnt surprise me if they did live in them. We also have pileated woodpeckers.

A real neat old 24oz Keen Kutter ball peen i found at an antique mall for 6 bucks. Put a nice handle on it. Its going in the Zetors tool box.

And 3 nice handles i pick up here an there for 3 othe heads i have to clean up still. A True Temper Kelly Works Vulcan, True Temper Kelly Works Red Warrior, and an old Vaughan.
