When my son was born he had quite a few things wrong with him. To start we didnt make it to the hospital. My wife decided to squirt him out on the ride there. Just 2 miles from the hospital! Once we got there and detached from momma, we didnt see him for 2 hours! Apparently he came into this world so quickly because his red blood cell count was off the charts. His little lungs could not properly oxygenate the blood so he was basically sufficating. To complicate that his already stressed lungs had pulmonary hypertension. They did a filtering of his blood to remove almost half of his red cells to get to a normal level. He could not maintan body temperature either. Once they got him stable, they also told us he had down syndrome. He spent the first 17 days in NICU.

It's just amazing the medical science we have now! Just look him now! Never would know just how rough his journey was into this world.

Not trying to one up anyone on family tragedies. Just proof that with enough support and the right care, good things happen.:)

All things considered he looks pretty healthy, you guys are truly blessed .

Careful parking under trees. Bird sheet damages paint!
pfft paint.

We call that a tulip tree here, and they are in bloom...tulip trees are a species of the magnolia family.
I wished they'd look like that all year long.

He finished his radiation treatments yesterday!
Just getting that pic and knowing that part is over really turned a crap day at work into a good day.

They build a custom mold that he had to lay in to pisition him the same every time for the radiation.
He asked if he could have it, but they told him no.
They also asked why.
He told them "Because my son and I want to blow it up!"

Fantastic news you’ll both have too blow up soummit else
Got any beaver dams around your property

@Mkinslow you can kick it's azz!

Kind of a long story, I will try to condense.
2015. My wife is having random shooting pain from the top of her head going down the side.
She says there is a tender spot on skull and if she taps on her skull, it "sounds" hollow in her ears.
I accuse her of smoking potpourri.

Finally goes in. Gets bounced from Dr. To Dr.
Finally do X-ray.
Azzhole calls and tells her you have a hole in your skull and a mass on your brain.
I want to go kick the chit out of the guy for not at least trying to sugar coat it some.

See Neurosurgeon. Mass is not in or on brain. Inflamed tissue. Remove, patch skull.
We laugh because I was the one who should have a plate in my skull.
3 weeks later, biopsy results.
Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. (LCH).
Think google is broke. Wont come up with chit..
Very rare, 1 in 2.5 to 3 million is diagnosis rate.
Oncologist wants to do chemo, radiation.
Only 5 specialists in the world on it.
Finally get a Doc in Mn. That has delt with it. He wants to monitor as it can affect any part of your body. Bone, like she had, best case. Bone marrow, organ bad.

So, every 6 months it's p.e.t. scans, ct scans, organ funtion testing..

But, so far so good!

Man that is tough odds but good so far which is good news
