Surprising how much water a good french drain will move.
I had the excavation guy we use for work come out. He said no to the French drain and said either a smallish pond or drainage ditches on the other 3 sides of the house

Definitely a lot of variables when it comes to proper drainage. Seems like the water issue should've been disclosed before you bought the place. I'd be asking some questions if I were you.

That one pic with the black drain off of the spout seems too close to the house. Gotta be a way to get a drain headed to some lower ground
For sure...looks like there's bigger fish to fry though. Raw sewage running through the basement is fugged up!
