I made a habit to pick up trim line pieces that I find during my walks with the pup.
Mainly out of curiosity what kind of line others are using, but also because Google says generic nylon trim line does not decompose for 100 years.

On every weekly walk I pick up about this much.
Every piece indicates one full trim head spool spent, thus the pieces I pick up are only a small fraction of what has been spread into the environment.

So far ALL line pieces I encountered are "round".
Does no one use profiled line, triangle, square, star, spiral?
These are my two Dolmar brand lines.

Some of my trim line choices I have in my parts bucket.
I have a couple more "round" ones just other OD's.
Star shaped and spiral square cut the best.
The cheapest generic line sold in bulk is simple round profile.

Looking at the above pictures I feel like a kid with crayons! 😅

Added some decoys to the strawberry patch.

Within 10-15 minutes there were birds checking them out, one a blue-jay even took a peck. The robin left them alone.

I have to do that. It's my first year with strawberries and the birds have already attacked half a dozen of them in my small patch

It's said that berry sized rocks being painted, then add seed spots(use a tooth-pik for the spots) and a small green leaf top improves the effectiveness.
I didn't have the time for a art project, so mine are kinda plain.

I'll be moving them to just under the plants to help with the fakery.

Sounds like a worthy project to go after with the boys and wife. Gonna wait for the dew to burn off the grass, and go pick through the rock pile...
