I’m sure it did but it won’t oil the bar anymore…

I always likes the ms250
And they are great for firewood guys but liking a 20” bar is just unrealistic…in my opinion…
Bah…just pull out…rev it up to get oil flowing, cut a few more inches, rinse, repeat 😃

Oh, yea…18” is pretty much max on that size saw regardless of mods. :p

Want a 20”, 3/8 50cc? Ms261…

For sure I still have a ms250 that I used the *s-word out of years ago, she always wore an 18”’and I don’t use it much anymore but I just may break her out soon and knock the dust off of her for old time sake lmao….

Hell I got a 026 and ms261sm and I only put 18” Bar on them…granted I got other saws so if I get into wood ove that, the 362, or 462 get broke out lol….

I think a 3/8 72 driver bar sucks on 50cc saws, especially stock ones. That's more like 60cc.
The 261 with 72dl, 20” works great foe limbing. Good reach, good cut speed.
Now, cutting 20”+ wood? Nope…too slow, imo. It will get through it, in time, as long as the chain is really sharp, but, will be slow.
20”+ wood on a regular basis? 70+cc is kind of a minimum, imo.
Ideally? 90cc 😃 but, I’m biased…

If my 50-60cc saws see anything over about 2/3 the length of the bar (i have 5 in the 50-60cc range, 026, ms261, ms362, and husq 455rancher, all wearing 20" bars) the bigger saws come out, woods ported 044/25", woods ported big bore ms460/32" or the MMWS ported ms661/36" 🤣🤣🤣

Modded 261 wears a 16" bar and 12" hardwood is my grab a different saw limit.

044 572 500i and a 592 with an 8pin all wear 20-24"

088 with a 42" gets fired up about once or twice a year.

I like the 261with an 18” so much so that the 362 don’t get used ans much unless want to run her some, I use 261 and 461 combo…I just cut up some oak after work yesterday had bar buried a few times, damn 261 runs good and totally changed after 15 or so tanks of fuel…..

I was talking to a guy on here and I listed my 362 for sale and lowered price a few times with no bites…I thought hell with givin it away I’ll keep it lol

I know a lot of people don’t love the 362 but I mean it’s not terrible, little muff mod and some port tickling they ain’t that bad…..

Having a 261 and a 362 currently in the fold, its hard to justify having one of each, (glad i got mine free because they were blown up and rebuild both on the cheap) as they essentially perform the same tasks, and the 261 weighs less... i dont see the gains you would expect from 10 more cc, like the difference in jumping from a 362 to an 044/ms440... the 261 and 362 feel like the same saw to me, then you jump 10 more to a 70cc saw and its a whole different animal that cuts faster than a 362 in 12" wood with a 25" bar buried to the hilt or more... both saws are still a hair rich and being broken in in this video, 044 has basic very conservative woods port...... both brand new full chisel stihl chains, 362 is 20", 044 is 25", cutting rock maple

Agree….i keep a 20 in my 362 (I rebuilt it don’t have much in it), and it runs fine even full bar buried in hardwood, but ya the 261 and 461 is a killer combo for me….it easy to grab 461 for anything the 261 can’t get….the 261 is light like a toy, but a badass strong little saw!!!

Also I was always like hell with mtronic, rl I tried to find a problem with it and not like it, but I’ll be damned it is actually awesome lol!!

Same.... absolutely hated mtronic untill i got 2 of them....🤣🤣🤣 now they are the most used saws.... run the 261 until its too small, then usually end up grabbing the 661..... however the new big bore ms460 i just put together is gonna give that 661 a run for its money.... its got some balls behind it... gotta sink it into some bigger wood side by side with the 661...

I am "cursed" with far more saws than i actually need or use.... 🤣 ms194t, 026, poulan pro pp5020av (thats the giveaway saw, no one borrows my stihls🤣) ms261, ms280, ms362, husq455 rancher, 044, ms460, 661....

I believe the math formula for correct number of saws is Rm+ or some such similar which is one more than the present number of saws you currently have.
