5 years? 390xp. I'm on my 4th muffler and third recoil thing the rope wraps around. 1 recoil spring. Was brand new in July! If I get 16 months out of it I'm gonna be surprised. It's not a fan of 6 gallons of gas a work week I suppose.

Lol *s-word. I’ve had mufflers on 372’s I’ve owned crack and blow apart but never on the 390 I had. Sad to hear they’re doing the same.

They break mostly around the holes that the internal muffler bolts go in. They crack then break off in big chunks.

The 372 and 390 mufflers are made of tin foil, junk. Also, the 390 (because of the larger bore) has some sort of weird harmonic that exacerbates the situation. That is why imho 385 > 390
