Problem changing pass word.

I am logged in on my original password. It suggest I change it which I went through process twice. Both times it said my original password was incorrect which it is in fact wrong. I am logged in on it and it's been my password ever since I remember. Hopefully it will still work logging in after I log out today. And I would like to change my password.
If I can't log back in after signing out , how do I get back?
