Poulan ID and help needed

This is a friends saw , I know its junk but he says it has a lot of sentimental value to him . He needs the broken handle fixed it is the plastic part that mounts on the bottom. What model is this and does anyone have the lower handle?

either a 2900 or 2500,lots of them for sale for parts on ebay,the 2900 is 46cc and the 2500 is 4o cc.pretty good cheap saws.

How can I tell which?

Agreed, I like the older Poulans, would love to have a few of the "Counter-Vibe" models, like the 3400 and 5200. Oh, a 3450 and a S6000 would be niceas well.

The part your looking for is the same for both saws.the only difference between them is the piston and cylinder.
