I have this Craftsman model 358.355051 in beautiful running condition with original bar and chain.

I replaced the fuel line (which isn't fun on these), and either cleaned or rebuilt the carb. New air filter foam. Starts and runs great.

I'd like to get $70 plus shipping.

I just saw this..(no pun intended!) I have the identical saw, bought new by my dad in 1985. So I'm not a prospective buyer. He gave it to me about 1996-7, and I used it some. The fuel line deteriorates and will leak causing no start/run, but you found that.

I'm now getting it running again, with a little more TLC. I'm writing this to hopefully help you sell it... It's a handy little saw. Parts are scarce now, but patience and detective work will get you a carb kit, clutch drum, gas and oil caps, etc. Sometimes by searching Poulan 2000, which is the "daddy". Yours looks like mine did in 1990, so it's definitely worth the investment. That's a lot of saw for $100 delivered, up against the Echo/Husky/Stihl equivalents. Good luck!

I'm tempted. As clean as it looks, I'll wager internal wear is nil. And I know my way around them, including learning more as I dig a little deeper into mine. My original owner's manual didn't seem to follow me from Kansas after the big-D-and-I-don't-mean-Dallas, but the Poulan 2000 manual that I downloaded confirms the 16:1 fuel-oil ratio that my dad used and that I continued. Which is a lot of oil, but easy on the internals. Poulan said to do that unless you use their 40:1 oil. Guess I'm rambling, thinking out loud that with two of them I'd for sure have one running at any given time.

If I want to go further, how does that work? Do we p.m.? How does that work in this forum?

Bought the saw! All as described- 40 years old but not used very much. I took it apart (left and right covers) to thoroughly clean, put a chain on it, and she fired right up. Did a little winter deadfall clean-up just for a test, and she did just fine. Everything was as-advertised, and Jack was easy to communicate with, responding promptly throughout the sale. Call this a five star review!
