It's hard to tell how many computers that damaged wiring harness shorted out.
Holy Smokes. Everything was put back together, service manager put a 100 miles on it, was about to green light it as good to go, then every single light on the dash lite up, every error in the book is now triggered, and will not go away no matter what. This truck is possessed. Manager says, at least it is no longer intermittent.
An area tech is coming out in a few days to do his thing, and vows not to leave til it is fixed.
I'm back to being MAD!!!

Sounds familiar. I replaced one last week on an E-450 bus and it was junk, out of the box, from Napa. They brought up another one, had to take a grinder to the mounting bracket to make it fit. It lasted 2 days before failing.I have a Mazda pickup. At less than 80k, the truck started throwing random codes.
The slip rings in the alternator were trenched. The truck is bone stock, including the radio. No extra lights or other doodads.
I went through three alternators from NAPA to find one that the windings weren't nicked or the slip rings didn't have dents from being tossed around during manufacturing.
Or obviously had one bad phase or diodes, just from looking at the test sheet that's packed with each unit.
I was baffled as to why that one was ever boxed and shipped out.
The dented ones had broken the insert of the machine/lathe and so the surfaces were rough as sandpaper. That would have eaten the brushes in a few weeks.
What's funny is that I saw no dimming or flickering of lights in the truck.
Sister's Honda was doing similar things with the dash and code lights..
Alternator was worn out.
Demand a full refund and just walk away, right now.

The OEM alternator on my Camry is still going strong at 340k+. I pulled the brushes recently and it looks like they’ll go to 500kAll my alternatives and starters come from Denso nowadays. Still cheaper than Napa, just have to wait a few days for it to arrive. Don't get me wrong, I love the folks at my Napa store but I'm not paying more money for an inferior part.
There is no way I would trust a truck that has been taken apart and put together umpteen times. Nothing an average dealer does will ever beat good factory QC (not saying that Dodge has that…)Yep, I think it's time.
Exactly. It is what the service manager said too. Tech might reach the same thought and label it as, it can't be fixed. Will be interesting to see what they give me instead. After today they are into this truck over 10 grand, maybe almost 11 grand. Where do they cut their losses? It's hard to tell how many computers that damaged wiring harness shorted out.
Have you paid them anything yet?
I may have missed it in a prior post but have you contacted a lawyer about this ?Fully paid plus the title for my vehicle sign over. I'd have walked away if I wasn't. Not so simple to demand my money back before letting them explore every fix. We're nearing the end.

May be time to do so if you haven't already.

Lawyer fees are surprisingly low sometimes. Especially if it's straight forward like in your case. We had a lawyer deal with a neighbor Fn with our easement and it was only $200. Effective too. So far.I'm taking detailed notes for just that reason. Its a last resort. Once you hire a lawyer, you've lost. $$$ BIG $$$
My guess; to declare a vehicle a lemon, unfixable, all avenues need to be explored, by corporate RAM, not my small dealer. This tech coming out is policy, procedure, and last steps.
