Unbelievable!!! They are baffled, and have no idea what is wrong or what is going on. The service dept is putting out a Chrysler Star Bulletin notice/request, to see if any other dealership has encountered this problem before.

2 weeks now, and in another 2 weeks lemon law comes into effect. I asked do we really have to wait the additional 2 weeks. Move me into another similar truck, make this customer happy and fix the lemon at your leisure. My salesman is going to speak to the sales manager and see what can be done. **** Fudge ****
This sucks man.

Service manager called and said he found a Service Bulletin, that says when replacing the ABS Module, also to be replaced at the same time is a Brake Booster. Just the Module alone causes problems as they communicate with each other. I guess the old with the new, they speak a different language.

Booster is now ordered, and I can expect everything to be right next Tuesday. Quite the Saga, but hopefully this light at the end of the tunnel is real.

Maybe possibly today. The Brake Booster showed up, but was missing some components(not at all aware of what those might be). So yesterday the missing were FedUp Expressed ordered and might/should show up today, then they might get installed, then they might work, and then I might get to pickup my 3 week delayed new pickup.

Not today either. My anger is growing, and I let the salesman and his staff have an earful.

UPS Tracking Number shows In Transit. Will it (the part is a wiring harness) show up tomorrow? Service manager says, I don't know. :cursing:

This 1000%. I hoard duplicates of my favorite OPE, tools, and guns. I don't do that with automobiles because I don't have the storage space or money for it, otherwise I would.

Part is Out for Delivery. Should be installed today, and I will pick up the truck tomorrow if all checks good. What a Saga. A first for me, and hopefully the last.

Really hope it works out for you, I'm planning to keep my 2012 going as long as possible.

36mo/36K General Warrantee coverage, and I put less then 10k miles a year on my vehicles. With roadside assistance, I should be good about not getting financially ruined with a lemon. If the truck proves to be problematic, I'll ditch it for something else. Or so that is the backup plan.

When I first heard of these problems with the ABS, I did my research, and it is not a unique problem. With the new module and requiring a new Brake Booster if seems to me I am getting what Ram considers the Fixed units. Wishful thinking but sounds right to me.

Big update given. The Wiring Harness being replaced is a Major Wiring Harness. 1 of 2 mains. This one requires lifting the Cab to get to it all. Wow! A Chrysler engineer was brought out to help diagnose the problem. The ABS had a dead short inside, so that has been resolve. Other intermittent electrical problems are due to the wiring harness. Yikes!

With this more complete disclosure update, I feel confident that the problem is being taken seriously and will get fixed.

I'm going to calm down and let them do their job.

Service Manager called. Apologizes for not knowing the full extent of the problem(s) earlier. The Main Wiring Harness must have slipped during assembly and was crush between the frame and the cab. Tada!!!

Ram pays for everything. So far: 4 to 5 grand in parts and 27 hours of labor, and it sounds like the truck is still being reassembled. 9 grand so far and counting. Not that Ram cares, but this is a loss for them, which I'm okay with. 👍

I'm totally cool now about this getting resolved 100%. I expect to take delivery sometime next week. What day? I don't care. This is all going to work out. 😍

From Amazon -- Hood and tail gate pin striping showed up today.

27 hours, I would be shocked if the tech gets half that. This is no criticism of you by any means, but a prime example why flat rate pay needs to go the way of breaker points and drum brakes. In 2007 I decided I had more self respect than to accept 13-20 hours of pay for 40+ hours of work and changed careers. Best decision I ever made. I kept all my tools and still fix cars at home, and if the customer doesn't want to pay me $40 an hour clock time they can go pay $120.00 an hour somewhere else!

Might be a good thing that these continued troubles led to them discovering the real problem.

About another 3 hours of labor left to complete on the truck. Worked on it all day. 27 hours + another 8 + 3 more. Expensive. Glad Ram is paying for all this.

Service Manager will drive it tomorrow if it starts, give it the seal of approval and I can go get it. Probably Wednesday.

Holy Smokes. Everything was put back together, service manager put a 100 miles on it, was about to green light it as good to go, then every single light on the dash lite up, every error in the book is now triggered, and will not go away no matter what. This truck is possessed. Manager says, at least it is no longer intermittent.

An area tech is coming out in a few days to do his thing, and vows not to leave til it is fixed.

I'm back to being MAD!!!
