There are a lot of the 6.6 gas engines on the road here. I have yet to see a complaint of oil consumption on one.

I do personally know one guy having a little consumption in his but it’s like a qt in 5000 towing his big 5th wheel.

They come in streaks it seems. Over last winter I had anywhere from 5 to 8 half tons sitting out back waiting for a valve body.
Over spring and summer I had probably 4 to 6 3/4 and 1 tons doing the same thing.

They have now finally released parts to us so I can fix them vs a replacement.

Ford has been doing that all along so their wait times were slightly shorter for parts.

For those who didn't know, these were a joint effort between the General and the Blue oval.

70,000 on my 2021 f-150 with the 2.7 and 10 speed. 3:55 gears does everything I need and shifts smooth 99.5% of the time but honestly never had a truck that didn’t do a weird shift on rare occasions. This was to Steve’s g2g round trip from my house 5 mph over with cruise set.

Didnt chevy have a issue with the V8s and when they recalled them they either gave you a new engine and if damage wasnt dont yet they put thicker oil in ? I think 40w

I dont blame you, it might be a good time to file some kind of lemon law paperwork at least get and keep all documents.

30 days. I'm documenting all now. This sucks! I'm no longer getting updates from the sales department, but from the Mechanics. Last word, electrical problems are tough to solve and no estimate to when this might be fixed. Truck is in the shop being worked on.

I hate to make a bluff I am unwilling to follow up with action. I want and need this truck. Only problem is it has problems, and they will get fixed. Only real problem is my patience is being tested.

There’s other trucks at that dealership I bet and if it keeps going I’d make sure I get a different one and or go somewhere else. You haven’t taken delivery yet

It probably doesn’t help any, but I know somewhat how you feel. In 2002 I ordered a new tuck, my first and only one ever. F250 crew cab long bed 4x4 diesel 6-speed manual. Luckily I ordered just in time to get one of the very last 7.3s, built the week before the line switched to the 6.0s. It’s a LONG truck but our young family was doing a lot of camping and canoeing at the time, and we were planning a long camping tour “out West” the next summer.

The truck was delivered on a Friday, and my buddy that works at the dealership called me to let me know it had arrived. I looked at it on a Sunday on the way back from camping, and called the dealership owner (who I knew personally) on Monday morning and told them I didn’t want the truck cleaned or prepped, only the PDI that the dealer has to do. I didn’t want just anybody driving that long beast around the dealership. Well, the next day the owner called to tell me they had wrecked it pulling it into the wash bay. Luckily it was just the bed side, not the cab. There was a very tense meeting that afternoon in the dealership! Making it worse was the fact that they couldn’t just order another one because I didn’t want a 6.0.

Long story short, they made it right, losing a bunch of money on the truck in the end. I still have the truck, and it’s a great one! Hope your purchase eventually turns out as well.

Good News? A couple of loose pins were found, fixed, and all seems good. They will keep til Monday, put some miles on it to confirm that it is ready to be released.

Honestly I don't see anything gas and new being super reliable in the long run because during Biden the auto manufacturers were having to pay huge fees if they didn't meet mpg requirements. That's why we lost the legendary 4.0 from Toyota and a lot of other great engines form other brands. Trump just changed the fines to zero, so maybe we'll see change for the better, we'll see.

Good riddance. My wife's 4-runner has a 4.0 and it's a gutless turd of an engine.

Tell them you want a deep discount, free mats or bedliner, or whatever you can use that they will throw in to make up for the lost time and hassle.

And crappy on gas besides, I had one for a rental when our 22 explorer got smashed. My wife drove the 21 f150 and I drove the 4 runner. Everyone’s like bet you’ll trade the explorer off on one because they run forever told them not a chance and having to drive it forever isn’t a selling point to me.

He said, "No and it is going to be expensive. The dealership is replacing the whole bed with a new one!!!" The repair was astronomical and the dealership had to eat it. The scratch was very minor. As a customer, I would have rather had a 10K discount. But this was a GMC denali, duramax, black, loaded to the max; so not a typical customer.

Former coworker had a story about a kid that leaned something against the homeowner's Ferrari on a remodel job. Scratched it. Must have been a special one because it was on Ferrari's short list of cars they fly a guy over to fix a few times a year.

Unbelievable!!! They are baffled, and have no idea what is wrong or what is going on. The service dept is putting out a Chrysler Star Bulletin notice/request, to see if any other dealership has encountered this problem before.

2 weeks now, and in another 2 weeks lemon law comes into effect. I asked do we really have to wait the additional 2 weeks. Move me into another similar truck, make this customer happy and fix the lemon at your leisure. My salesman is going to speak to the sales manager and see what can be done. **** Fudge ****

I'm feeling the same way. This truck is looking to be a nightmare for anybody that takes it home.

Several years ago, I bought a HD Samsung TV that lasted 2+ weeks. I called Samsung explained the problem, jump thru a few hoops and sent it back to them. With my permission the replacement they sent me was also a failed TV, but was refurbished, yet several series better (800 vs a 300 series). When the 800 arrived it looked brand new, just no manual and the box was kind of in sad shape. Turns out the 800 Series was a 4K TV. Wow, Perfect, Batman The Dark Knight has never looked or sounded so cool! Lesson, I learned, sometimes you come out ahead in applying patience and waiting to see how it all plays out.

We got an electric pressure washer from Lowes awhile back. Quit in 6 months. Lowes said we have to deal with the manufacturer because it was past 30 days. Had zero hope it'd work out. Manufacturer asked a couple questions and sent a new one, said to keep the broken one for parts or whatever. New switch fixed the broke one for about 5 minutes.

No way in hell I'd take that truck, though.
