Tis a Tradesman Crew Cab 4x4 with the V6 Pentastar engine. I did a lot of research, and 8-cylinder trucks are to stay away from (Multi Displacement), or for power it is straight 6 with turbos. This V6 naturally aspirated engine has been around for a good while and is considered very reliable. The next step up was a Big Horn, and in my opinion the differences are NOT worth an additional 10 grand. Most notable is the electric adjustable seats. Manual is fine with me; set it once and forgetaboutit.

I'm blown away with all the new features. Light years ahead of my 2008 Totota FJ. Push button start in a truck? Wow! And a 33 gallon fuel tank.

Congratulations! That is indeed a good engine, just make sure to change the oil more frequently than the oil minder recommends, and use a good grade of the recommended weight. If you do that they will treat you right.

On the other hand, I hate (HATE!) the push button start and auto stop/start. ;) Still a nice truck though!

The rotate selector for drive/neutral/reverse/park is very odd. I'll get used to it all in time.

My daily is an 07 FJ and the better half's a 2021 Lexus. It's a brain twister driving one then the other.

You see the etorque option rams have?
Basically a little battery operated motor that bolts where the alternator goes.

Now they can advertise hybrid and have the breaks charge the battery

 Not happy!!!

Went to pick up the Dodge and the vehicle did not pass their inspection. An ABS module is throwing codes. Maybe Friday. I hope I didn't buy a lemon. Money has changed hands, all papers filled out, title for my vehicle was sign over, and... again, Not Happy!!!! :teeth:

Ugh! What a disappointment! Hope they get it straightened out completely and quickly!

I'm being told the part has been found and being shipped. Best guess is Tuesday. *** Fudge ***

I have to remind myself that I did get 25% off MSRP on this pickup. Dealers are loaded with inventory that is not selling, and I have taken the opportunity to get myself a truck to last me maybe 20 years or more. If I live that long.

Wow! That's a big change from a few years ago, when they were ADDING thousands to the MSRP, because they couldn't complete vehicles for lack of electronic chips. Sounds like you got a great deal.

I looked at going with a dodge, but plans changed. My son took over my truck and we were going to buy me a new one this year, but decided to wait. We needed a third vehicle so we got something my daughter would be comfortable driving in two years. I’ll revisit the truck purchase then and see what has taken place with some of these newer trucks. I was wanting a 2500HD, 6.6L gas, but I’ve been hearing horror stories of oil consumption. We have one in our work group that is practically brand new. I’m going to see how it holds up first! All of these newer trucks worry me. Maybe by then he will buy his own and I can have mine back, lol.

I hear you. A lot of new tech with the engines that isn't proven yet and we don't want to pay for.
